Invisible grills in Muttukadu – at a glance
What is an invisible grill?
An invisible grill is a row of thin stainless steel cables fixed across a balcony, window or terrace opening and held in an aluminium track. From a few steps away the cables almost disappear, so light, air and your view stay open while the opening becomes safe.
Families in Muttukadu choose invisible grills to protect small children and pets, stop falls from high-rise balconies and keep a clean, modern look instead of heavy box grills.
For a Muttukadu home, ask about UV resistance for nets and corrosion resistance for grill wires and fixing hardware, given the coastal exposure. Have each opening measured rather than choosing by balcony size alone. Discuss mesh spacing for pigeons, children or pets, as the requirements differ. Check that installation will not block drainage, window movement or necessary access. After heavy rain or strong winds, look for loose fixings, damaged mesh or slack wires and arrange repairs promptly.
