Look at the edges as well as the mesh

Request an assessment if you see a detached edge, damaged netting or a fixing that appears loose. If a bird is trapped inside, keep people and pets away and contact the installer or a suitable animal-rescue professional; do not cut an uncontrolled hole or try to handle the bird from a balcony edge.
