Duct Area Pigeon Nets for Apartments – Tall Shafts and Terrace Covers, Part 3

Owner-uploaded YPL installation photos, labelled by camera date; individual photos are not assigned to a specific property.

Tall shafts and terrace-top duct covers

This third set shows two kinds of duct area work. The February 2025 photos show full-height pigeon netting on tall apartment shafts, fitted by our installer working down the face of the building so every floor's duct opening is covered.

The July 2026 photos show a terrace-top duct cover: the top of the shaft is netted over completely, so pigeons cannot drop in from above and nesting material cannot build up at the top of the duct.

Why the top of the duct matters

Many apartment ducts are open at the terrace. Even if the sides are netted, pigeons enter from the top and roost on the ledges inside. A terrace-top cover closes the last entry point while still letting air and rain pass through the mesh.

We anchor the cover to the parapet walls on all sides and tension it so it does not sag or hold water.

Safety on tall duct jobs

Full-height duct work is done with rope access by trained installers, and the net itself becomes a duct area safety net once fitted: it stops falling objects from travelling down the shaft and protects lower-floor windows and balconies.

The net is UV-stabilised HDPE, fixed to anchored borders, and can be re-tensioned later if needed.
